Surprise Proposal in Edinburgh on Salisbury Crags, Arthurs Seat

Sam got in touch with me to plan his surprise proposal to Casey in Edinburgh before their trip over here from Australia. The had both lived in Edinburgh before and it was an important place for them both, but they hadn’t been able to revisit it for over 5 years, so it was going to be a special trip. Sam commissioned a ring to be made by the incredibly talented Moira Patience Fine Jewellery that would be finished in time for him to pick it up the day before he had planned to propose to Casey up on the Salisbury Crags. When Sam and I had spoken about locations for the proposal he had originally floated the idea of the top of Arthur’s seat, which whilst does give an unbelievable view over the city, is quite a trek and probably only the fittest among us wouldn’t be a sweaty mess by the top, particularly in August. So we opted for a slightly lower vantage point of Salisbury Crags, which still gives stunning views over the city and a much better effort-to-reward ratio too.

After popping the questions (and Casey said yes of course!), we headed down for a little wander around the bottom of Arthur’s Seat, St Anthony's Chapel Ruins, St Margaret’s Loch and Holyrood Park to take some photos of the two of them. Check out the photos below and if you’d like help planning your own surprise proposal in Edinburgh or Scotland get in touch with me here.
